For Agents

Programmatically retrieves the connections for this user, deletes a connection for this user (i.e. disconnect a tenant). Covers 2 operations with basic, oauth2 authentication.

Use for: I need to retrieves the connections for this user, I want to deletes a connection for this user (i.e. disconnect a tenant), Get the current status of Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API resources, List all records from Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API

Not supported: Does not handle payments, communications, or crm — use for identity and authentication only.

These endpoints are related to managing authentication tokens and identity for Xero API. The API exposes 2 endpoints secured with basic, oauth2 authentication.

Install Jentic One Beta

Connect the Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API to your agent

Jentic One is a self-hosted execution layer for AI agents. It lets your agent call the Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API, or any other public or private API you need. You set the rules, the agent never sees your credentials, and every call is logged.

Two steps, two machines. Install the instance in a safe environment, then register your agent from wherever it runs.

1

Step 1: Jentic One Host machine

# On the machine that will host your Jentic One instance:
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jentic/jentic-one/main/tools/install.sh | sh
2

Step 2: Agent machine

# On the machine where your agent runs (keep this separate from the instance):
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jentic/jentic-one/main/tools/install.sh | sh
jentic register # connects your agent to your Jentic One instance

Jentic One is in public beta. The setup above keeps your agent separate from the instance, which is what you want before using real credentials: an agent running as the same OS user as Jentic One can read its stored keys directly. Just evaluating? A single local install is fine to start. See the secure deployment guide for the tiers.

Capabilities

What an agent can do with Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API.

Retrieves the connections for this user

Deletes a connection for this user (i.e. disconnect a tenant)

Integrate Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API into automated workflows

Query and filter Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API records by parameters

Monitor Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API operational status and events

Use Cases

Patterns agents use Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API for, with concrete tasks.

★ Identity and Authentication Operations

Use the Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API to perform identity auth operations programmatically. The API provides 2 endpoints covering core functionality including retrieves the connections for this user, deletes a connection for this user (i.e. disconnect a tenant).

Call GET /Connections to retrieves the connections for this user

Data Retrieval and Monitoring

Query Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API resources on a schedule to track changes, generate alerts, or feed downstream dashboards. Agents poll relevant endpoints, compare against previous state, and trigger actions when thresholds are crossed.

Poll the primary Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API endpoint, compare response to last known state, and alert if changed

AI Agent Integration via Jentic

AI agents discover and call Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API endpoints through Jentic without managing credentials directly. An agent searches for the required operation by intent, receives the matching endpoint schema, and executes the call with Jentic-managed authentication. This eliminates the need to read API documentation or handle basic, oauth2 tokens manually.

Search Jentic for 'retrieves the connections for this user', load the operation schema, and execute with Jentic-managed credentials

Key Endpoints

2 endpoints — these endpoints are related to managing authentication tokens and identity for xero api.

Why Jentic?

Three things that make agents converge on Jentic-routed access.

Credential management

Credential isolation

Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API basic, oauth2 credentials are stored encrypted in the Jentic vault (MAXsystem). Agents receive scoped access tokens — raw secrets never enter the agent context.

Intent-based discovery

Intent-based discovery

Agents search by intent (e.g., 'retrieves the connections for this user') and Jentic returns the matching Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API operation with its input schema, so the agent can call the right endpoint without browsing docs.

Time to first call

Time to first call

Direct Xero OAuth 2 Identity Service API integration: 1-3 days for auth handling, response parsing, and error cases. Through Jentic: under 1 hour — search, load schema, execute.
